The IAM has learned that the Airline Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) filed for Single Carrier Status this week with the National Mediation Board (NMB) regarding the mechanic and related groups involved in the Alaska–Hawaiian merger.
The NMB must initiate an investigation to officially determine whether a single transportation system exists between Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. There is no time limit for this investigation, and the NMB will inform both parties of the next steps.
The IAM is monitoring this situation, and as new information becomes available, we will update the membership immediately.
