Breast Cancer Awareness Month

breastcancerIn 2015, it is estimated that among U.S. women there will be 231,840 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 40,290 breast cancer deaths.  This disease hits close to home for so many of our members, whether they are survivors, have lost friends or family or have watched their loved ones have to fight for their lives.

As with many causes that are close to our members’ hearts we are going to do what we can to raise awareness and contribute to a cure.  IAM Local Lodge 2339H member Leslie Adkinson and President Nancie Craft have organized a system-wide soda tab collection for donation to Susan G. Komen, the most widely known and largest breast cancer organization that funds research and provides resources and advocacy for breast cancer.

The collection containers will be at the union tables and/or filing cabinets in each ExpressJet Flight Attendant base.

We look forward to doing more for breast cancer awareness month and fighting to find a cure.

Fraternally yours,
