Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Leadership from IAM District 142 and the Air Transport Territory visited Hawaii during the week of April 28 – May 1, 2025, to tour the Hawaiian Airlines maintenance base in Honolulu. District 142 President/Directing General Chair John Coveny, General Chairs Ken Coley, Dave Figueira, Derek Morton, and Organizing Representative Fabian Liendo were joined by Air Transport Chief of Staff Edison Fraser and Air Transport Coordinator James Carlson.
During their visit, the group toured the maintenance facilities and held in-station meetings with members from all departments across all shifts.
The purpose of this visit was to inform our members at Hawaiian Airlines about the latest updates regarding the merger with Alaska Airlines and to answer questions related to the merger, their Collective Bargaining Agreement, and, most importantly, the upcoming representation vote.
This is a crucial time in our members’ lives and careers, and we must provide them with accurate, factual information straight from the source, not hearsay and rumors. This is especially critical in the coming weeks, and we ask that all Hawaiian members rely on trusted sources of information: your District 142 General Chair and Shop Stewards. The QR code and link below may be used to update your contact and mailing information with the IAM and keep up with the latest merger news.

We will continue to provide our members with updates as they become available. Please monitor the District 142 website, www.atd142.org, and our official social media pages. If you have not signed up for email and/or text updates from District 142, now is the time to do so. You can register at the top of our website’s homepage anytime.
Your support and solidarity are greatly appreciated as we continue this process.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr. President/Directing General Chair | Ken Coley General Chair | Dave Figueira General Chair | Derek Morton General Chair |
