DISTRICT 142 EAP, CIRT, AND FLIGHT SAFETY RESPONDING TO TRAGIC INCIDENT AT DCA

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

The tragic incident last night at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) involving American Airlines Flight 5342, operated by PSA Airlines, and a United States Army helicopter has left us shocked and heartbroken. Our hearts go out to the victims and their families and all those affected by this horrible event. 

We are deeply aware that this incident will impact our members at PSA Airlines and American Airlines for years to come.  Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) personnel and Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) are mobilizing to support our members during this challenging period.

District 142 has always prioritized safety. Our Flight Safety Committee is committed to supporting the ongoing investigation and will provide any assistance necessary to determine the cause of this tragedy and to prevent future occurrences.
