Dear Sisters and Brothers:
The IAM met with Southwest Labor Department, Ground Ops and Customer Care Leadership at Southwest Headquarters on August 11 and 12th
We discussed the general grievances for BEBOP and Sky Caps covered work at length.
For BEBOP – We discussed the inconsistencies in the stations and most importantly, the safety of our members. We will be working closely with leadership on a resolution soon.
Dialogue with the Company will continue concerning BEBOP and Sky Cap covered work.
For Sky Cap covered work- We provided pictures of where the payment swipes are located. The company agrees this is a CSA job duty. The Ground Ops Leadership are planning a meeting today to discuss the resolution.
For Customer Care – We met the new Vice President and went over job aids, new hire classes and discussed the protected sick time for AZ.
We would like to Thank the members for keeping the General Chairs in the know and sending supporting documents for the grievances. We remain diligent in seeking a resolve as soon as possible.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
