EXPRESSJET ERJ ET AL FURLOUGH RECALL GRIEVANCE UPDATE

Sisters and Brothers:

As you know an Et. Al. grievance was filed on January 13, 2018 on behalf of the furloughed ERJ members who were not recalled while the Company canceled COLAs to staff vacancies that are available beginning March 1, 2018.  The grievance was heard yesterday January 31, 2018 in ORD. Present on behalf of the Company was ORD Base Manager, Matt Parsons and representing the furloughed members were Grievance Representatives, Monica Pasillas and Cori Horowitz. Shaunte Byron a furloughed ERJ member was also in attendance. All of the evidence of the violation was carefully laid out and explained to the Company step-by-step.

We are now awaiting a response from the Company, which we should receive within 10 business days per the contractual timeline. The proposed remedy was to allow the ERJ furloughs to return to the vacancies effective March 1, 2018.  If the Company denies this grievance it will be appealed to Step 2 in the grievance process.  Currently, we have Step 2 grievances scheduled to be heard in ATL on February 27.  If the furloughs are not recalled March 1, 2018, we will begin calculating the harm being experienced by each furlough by not being recalled and that will be the requested settlement to the grievance.
