Which Flight Attendant group will be staffing the 20 CRJ 200s operating for United Express?
The legacy ASA/CRJ Flight Attendant group will be operating the 20 UAX CRJ 200s. While we have not received the exact tail numbers from the Company, it is our understanding from the Company many of these aircrafts, if not all were covered under the Fence Agreement which protected the rights to operating those aircrafts for CRJ Flight Attendants.
Does this mean this will reduce the amount of furloughs that were announced before the CRJ 200 announcement?
No, unfortunately staffing these aircrafts was taken into account prior to the furlough announcement.
What does this mean for the future for CRJ Flight Attendants?
At this time the only capacity purchase agreements in place for CRJ flying are the 20 CRJ 200s and the remaining Delta and American agreements which as you know are winding down.
If ExpressJet were to be awarded the EMB 175 flying for United which Flight Attendant group would operate those aircrafts?
At this time neither Flight Attendant group would have contractual rights to operate those aircrafts so which side they would go to would have to be negotiated, however our primary goal to achieve a joint collective bargaining agreement and integrated seniority list. We believe that will only allow us to further strengthen the ExpressJet/United relationship and benefit our members on a long term basis.
