Negotiations were held August 18 -20, 2015. Representing the rank and file was Grand Lodge Representative – Tom Regan, District 142 President-Directing General Chair Dave Supplee, General Chair – Randy Griffith, District 142 Special Representative – Dave Figueira, LL 1979 President & Grievance Committee Chairman – Brian Simonson, and Grievance Committeeman – Randall Bangay. For the Company was VP Employee/Labor Relations – Karen Berry, HA Maintenance and Engineering – Lance Higa, HA Finance – Stefan Knoepfel, and HA Sr. Contract Administrators – Keao Mattos and Aaron Iga.
Some progress was made on non-economic issues and the Negotiating Committee was hopeful that a tentative agreement could be reached.
When we began discussing economic issues, however, the Company proposed no retro pay, no profit sharing, no signing bonuses and increases in medical costs. At the same time, the Company also proposed grossly inadequate wage rate increases.
Your Negotiating Committee feels the Company’s positions do not come close to reflecting your needs. Your hard work and dedication has lead Hawaiian Airlines from bankruptcy to record profitability. You deserve much more than the Company’s latest inadequate proposals.
In order for your Negotiating Committee to secure the Agreement you deserve, your continued support and solidarity is more important now than ever.
It is crucial that you demand RESPECT and better pay, benefits and work rules from the airline that you have made successful.
United we Negotiate – Divided we Beg!
At this point NO Future dates for negotiations are scheduled.
In Solidarity,
Randy Griffith
