Human Rights COMMITTEE
A message from your Committee Chair:
Human rights in the labor movement encompass protecting workers’ rights to fair wages, safe conditions, and freedom from discrimination and forced or child labor. These rights are advanced through collective bargaining, freedom of association with trade unions, and ensuring dignity for all workers regardless of their background. The labor movement has historically been intertwined with the civil rights movement, fighting for both economic and social justice.
Now is the time to stop talking about Human Rights, but for D142 to lead the pack in putting Human Rights in action. If you are interested in getting involved with this movement, please join our Human Rights Committee.
It is our duty to protect universal freedoms that our forefathers in the labor movement fought for.
