The Union and Company met for negotiations this week in NYC near JFK airport. Present for the Company were Ken Karchinski, Director NA, AnnaMarie Weismantel, Guest Services Operations Manager NA and Lisa Taylor, Staff Services Director NA. Present for the Union was James M. Samuel, General Chairperson, joined by Diana Seddio and Maria Restuccia from Aer Lingus.
Both the Union and Company were able to pass comprehensive proposals covering all open issues this week. The tone of the meetings and dialogue were polite and cordial, and progress was made towards the completion of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. Areas of both the Yellow and Purple contracts discussed at this session included Scope, Seniority, Leaves of Absence, Remote Workers and Economics. Both the Union and Company committed to bringing these negotiations to a close in as short a period as possible. Future dates have been set to conduct the next round of negotiations during the week of August 20, 2018 in NYC near JFK.
