Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your District 142 negotiations committee and Aer Lingus leadership met in Jericho, NY the week of December 13, 2023, to continue discussions on proposed changes to the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. Prior to the meeting, Aer Lingus provided new and counter-proposals on the following articles:

- Article 20, Purple Book – Severance
- Appendix J, Purple Book – Pension
- Schedule A, Purple Book – Rates of Pay
- Article 16, Both Books – Vision
- Appendix J, Yellow Book – Pension
- Schedule A, Yellow Book – Premiums
- Schedule A, Yellow Book – Rates of Pay
- Article 21, Both Books – Medical Insurance
- Appendix B, Both Books – Medical Insurance
During the session, your negotiations committee asked the Company to explain their positions on the above proposals. We also discussed the following articles in addition to the above proposals:
- Article 13, Both Books – Grievance Procedure
- Article 18, Both Books – Union Security
- Article 21, Purple Book – Remote Workers
- Letter of Understanding, Purple Book – No Lay-off
- Letter of Understanding, Yellow Book – No Lay-off
At the end of the session on Thursday, the Union provided the Company with a package of counter-proposals to work towards a tentative agreement. The Company needed time to analyze this package and respond. Over the next few days, the Union and the Company discussed wages, and a final proposal was given to the Company.
The Company will meet in early January to approve or reject our final package proposal. As those results come back to us, we will schedule more meetings if needed, and provide that information to the membership.
We thank you for your patience and solidarity while we work to complete these negotiations for a new Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
