IAM/Air Wisconsin MRP Apprenticeship Program Letter of Agreement

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

IAMAW District Lodge 142 and Air Wisconsin Airlines have signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA) outlining the elements that will guide a new Apprenticeship Program in a joint effort to expose potential candidates to a career in aircraft maintenance. These programs are becoming more and more prevalent all throughout the United States and abroad relating to skilled trades.

Recently, IAMAW International President Robert Martinez, Jr. started a National Apprenticeship Strategic Initiative (NASI) at IAM headquarters in support of programs such as the one that will be developed at Air Wisconsin. The program that will be implemented will very closely resemble an already established IAM partnership at Hawaiian Airlines. There will be new opportunities within the maintenance department at Air Wisconsin for current IAM members to participate. Current employees interested in an aviation maintenance career will also be afforded the opportunity to utilize this program to obtain their Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license. A copy of the LOA will be available on the District Lodge 142 website with the release of this bulletin.
