Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your District 142 Joint Alaska-Hawaiian negotiating team continued Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) negotiations with the company this week at Koapaka in Honolulu. Your Committee presented to the Company and discussed the following articles:
General and Miscellaneous– Conversations regarding this article cover a wide variety of subjects. Some of the primary points of contention surrounded Airport Parking, Personnel Files, and the addition of EAP language. We have not reached Tentative Agreement on this article yet.
Home Agents– The company passed us back Home Agents this week. Conversations Centered around potential expansion of the eligible territory and honoring the Reservations seniority for ALL members who hold that seniority. We have not reached tentative agreement on this article yet.
DPASA, Information Technology, and Bilingual Letters– The Union and Company exchanged passes on these letters, there is a financial component that may need to wait until closer to the end of negotiations to resolve, We have not reached tentative agreement on these letters yet.
Transportation– The Company passed us back Transportation this week. The main outstanding issue is Retiree Travel. We have not yet reached tentative agreement on this Article.
Resource Planning– We have reached a tentative agreement on this Letter.
New Letter Instructor or Training Content Delivery– We have reached tentative agreement on this new letter.
As we prepare to move into the more heavily financial components of negotiations, it’s important to remind every member that Job Security is of the utmost importance. None of the language we negotiate has value if we don’t have jobs. Please support your negotiating committee as we move into what is likely to be the more contentious segment of negotiations.
Your committee is on the road doing station visits for the remainder of this month. We are next scheduled to meet in Honolulu the week of March 9th to prepare for our next session with the company at District 142 Headquarters in PHX the week of March 16th.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your negotiating committee. Please ensure you receive accurate information by signing up for District 142 updates on the website at www.atd142.org and by speaking directly with your negotiating team. These are the only official sources of information. Thank you for your continued support and solidarity.
Sincerely and fraternally,
| John M. Coveny, Jr. President/Directing General Chair | Jesse Wilson General Chair | David Figueira General Chair |
