Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your District 142 Joint Alaska-Hawaiian negotiating team continued Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) negotiations with the company last week at the Alaska Airlines offices in Seattle. Your Committee presented to the Company and discussed the following articles:
Vacations– The Union and the Company exchanged multiple passes on this article. Unfortunately, by the end of the week, we were unable to reach an agreement on vacations, and it remains an open subject for negotiation.
Letters of Agreement – PSC & Boardroom Concierge, Bilingual, Prudhoe Bay, Resource Planning, Information Technology, Staffing Adjustment, Ground Safety Action Program, Instructor or Training Development – The Company passed us their first proposals for these Letters of Agreement. The union will draft a counterproposal for the upcoming rounds of negotiations
While we were unable to reach Tentative Agreements on any articles this week, Important conversations were had, and both sides moved closer to each other’s positions. Your committee will meet in Phoenix the week of January 26th, in preparation for our next negotiations with the Company in Honolulu the week of February 2nd.
