Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your District 142 Joint Alaska-Hawaiian Negotiating Committee continued Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement (JCBA) negotiations with the Company this week at the Alaska Airlines offices in Seattle. Your Committee presented to the Company and discussed the following articles:
Grievance Procedure & System Board of Adjustments- After much discussion and debate, the Union and Company have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) on this article. The conversation focused on aligning and improving the process, where possible.
Union Security/Union Shop & Dues Check off- The Union and Company reached a TA on these articles.
Holidays- The Union and Company have reached a TA on this article, except for one piece, which will be held out for the economic discussion at the end of negotiations.
Training- The Union and Company have reached TA on this article.
Double Dipping Letter of Agreement- We have reached a Tentative Agreement on minor changes to this letter to improve the quality of life for the membership.
While this was a very productive week, and we are pleased with the progress made, your Committee knows that there is still much to discuss as we move into more difficult topics, such as Scope and Work Protections.
Your team will next be together at District 142 headquarters in PHX the week of October 20th to prepare for our next session with the Company, which is the week of October 27th, also at District 142 headquarters.
Thank you for your continuing support and solidarity as these important negotiations continue. If you have any questions of concerns, please reach out to a Shop Steward or negotiating committee member.
Sincerely and fraternally,
| John M. Coveny, Jr. President/Directing General Chair | Jesse Wilson General Chair | David Figueira General Chair |
