IAM/ALASKA AIRLINES – HAWAIIAN AIRLINES NMB CASE UPDATE

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

On July 30, 2025, the National Mediation Board (NMB) determined that Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines constitute a single transportation system for the craft or class of Mechanics and Related Employees. Following that decision, Alaska Airlines submitted its List of Potential Eligible Voters on August 13, 2025. On August 18, 2025, the IAM filed its representation application and supporting showing of interest for the craft or class. No other intervenor submitted a representation application or showing of interest by the August 29, 2025, deadline.

The NMB has now set important next steps in this case. By 10:00 a.m. ET on September 16, 2025, the Carrier must submit signature samples for all individuals on the List. The same day, by 4:00 p.m. ET, any challenges to the List or related objections must be filed. Responses to those challenges or objections are due by 4:00 p.m. ET on September 30, 2025.

All of these steps and deadlines set by the NMB are expected and part of the overall process of moving towards a representation vote in the near future.

We want to sincerely thank our IAM members at Hawaiian Airlines and our future members at Alaska Airlines for their ongoing support and solidarity during this critical phase of the representation process. IAM District 142 will continue to keep you informed of all developments as this case progresses through the steps and deadlines mentioned above.

Sincerely and fraternally,

John M. Coveny, Jr.
President/Directing General Chair
