IAM – ALLIED AVIATION NEGOTIATIONS INFO

Sisters and Brothers:

As we progress forward in trying to obtain an Agreement for all of the IAM groups at Allied Aviation, I wanted to bring you up to date to where exactly we are at in trying to obtain a tentative agreement for the membership. Everyone is aware of the slow pace, and the confusion around what is occurring has compounded the problem even farther. This process is unlike any of your past negotiations, so your expectations driven by the past processes are unfortunately not going to help the situation.

Earlier this year, District Lodge PDGC Supplee put the Company on notice, in writing to Ed Rose, that their current efforts have been lackluster at best, and that their attitude towards the negotiations of a Master Agreement needs to improve. Immediately. Since then, some progress has been made in the form of tentative agreements, but only on the least contentious areas of the Agreement. Those sections include Purpose of Agreement, Equal Treatment, Management Clause, Occupational Injury (OJI), Drug & Alcohol Testing and Savings Clause. You can view your current CBAs to see what these sections are inclusive of.

In the Union’s view, the negotiating of this Agreement is, in its simplest form, the combining of all current contracts in to one without removing anything of value to each individual station while trying to improve the standing of every station to the highest point of all the stations regardless of the topic. The Company in its attempts thus far, has not subscribed to that concept, and have only tried to remove hard won provisions from past contracts.

The next meeting for negotiations is scheduled to occur virtually on December 6, 2021. Please take the time to sign up to receive these and all District Lodge 142 communications by going to www.iamdl142.org and clicking on the red button that says Join Our Email List on the top, left hand side of the home page.

Sincerely and fraternally,

James M. Samuel
