Meetings occurred this week under the auspices of the National Mediation Board and Mediator Gerry McGuckin. Present for the union were James M. Samuel, General Chairperson, Reggie Gauthier, CS and John Reisert, Engineering. Present for the Company were Wayne Fraser-UK Engineering, Georgia Labarge-US HR and Bridgette Brookfield and Kate Ling-UK HR.
At this meeting each party delivered their opening proposal and provided an explanation for its content. Direct negotiations over new terms began thereafter with tentative agreements being reached in Articles IV-Classifications and Work Requirements, VII-Travel, IX-Filling of Vacancies, XV-Safety and Health and XIX-Stations Other than JFK. The overall tone of this meeting was positive and productive.
Additional dates for future meetings were also set to occur during the weeks of June 18 & 25, July 10 and August 6.
