The Union and Company resumed meetings this week in NYC under the auspices of the NMB and Mediator Gerry McGuckin. This week was dedicated to Engineering and we met with Wayne Fraser, Maintenance Manager, Bridget Brookfield, International HR Manager and Georgia LaBarge, US HR Manager. Your Negotiating Committee was joined this week by Grand Lodge Representative Mike Manzo.
Occurring this week was a pass described by the Company as “putting it all on the table” and which fell far short of being complete or containing anything worthy of putting before our Engineering members. Although the Company has withdrawn several of their proposals concerning CTO, the remaining proposals coupled with a lack of anything of substance relating to economics made our response all the more important. The following day your Committee responded with a true “comprehensive” proposal that addressed all outstanding issues submitted by the Engineering membership and included an economic package that recognizes your value to this airline and which would put you back among your peers at JFK and around the United States. We will await a response from the Company concerning this proposal.
Future dates are set with meetings occurring during the weeks of August 6, September 3 and November 26, 2018. Specific information concerning those meetings will be released when it becomes available.
