The Union and Company resumed meetings this past week in NYC under the auspices of the NMB and Mediator Gerry McGuckin. The entire week was dedicated to the CS contract with Doug Caines, Bridget Brookfield, and Georgia LaBarge in attendance for the Company. Your Negotiating Committee was joined this week by Grand Lodge Representatives Mike Manzo and John Werkmeister.
The Union received information this week that is being used to craft a proposal that encompasses a buyout for those employees who have expressed interested in leaving the company. I know many of you have asked for this opportunity, however, please be mindful that it is wholly dependent on the company’s cooperation at this point as part of negotiating a new contract. The Union is still resolute in that we will not negotiate away jobs. The Mediator is expecting the Union to deliver that buyout proposal no later than the next meeting that will occur during the week of September 3, 2018. Future dates are set with meetings occurring during the weeks of September 10, November 26 and December 3. Specific information concerning those meetings will be released when it becomes available.
