Yesterday, when the Company informed us of the unexpected news that there would be a take down of Delta flying by the end of 2018, it was gut wrenching for everyone. To learn that the hard work, dedication and excellence IAM Flight Attendants have provided to Delta would be coming to an end, is truly the end of an era. We know the magnitude of the impact this could have on all of us and our families. We are the best in the industry and have always gone above and beyond to be successful. It’s sad that our mainline partner didn’t recognize this and have chosen to eliminate our partnership.
While we are glad the Company has achieved a long-term resolution with United Airlines, the news did not include substantial growth and was greatly overshadowed by the Delta announcement.
We have been through so many ups and downs together, a merger, new bases, base closures and more. As we head toward our most challenging times, we will do what we do best in times of adversity, stick together, support one another and weather this storm as Union Brothers and Sisters.
The IAM will be meeting with the Company in the coming days and weeks and will do all we can to minimize the effect this will have on our Flight Attendants. We are committed to continuing to pursue a Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement. Now is the time for unity amongst our workgroup.
We will keep you updated on our progress. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
“Like a Phoenix we will rise from the ashes and soar.”

Sara Gonzales Marche’ Johnson-Cooper
