Over the past week, employees at JetStream in Phoenix voted to become IAM represented workers. Yesterday, when the votes were counted, over 88% of those employees voted IAM! Congratulations to those employees and a big “Thank you” to all our District 142 members who helped in this campaign! Over a very short 3 ½ month period, our team was able to launch a campaign, get the employees’ support and win this representation election. We had to overcome both jurisdictional challenges and an anti-union campaign. Now we invite the company to respect its employees in the next phase – getting these employees of Jetstream a contract to provide a living wage and union benefits.
We look forward to welcoming in these new members into the IAM and District 142.
