With the call for proposals released, there is another invaluable communication tool to help with the proposals that you are submitting. Along with the Stewards from around the system, we have worked together to finalize and publish a survey. This survey will be instrumental in collecting data that is normally generated by word of mouth and sometimes painfully extracted from proposals, with the issue being trying to understand exactly what the intent of the proposal is, and more importantly, what is most important to the PSA Airlines membership. It is extremely important that 100% of our membership take the time to complete the survey. As you will see, this survey has been tailored to include as many things as possible that are relevant to the Agreement we have with PSA Airlines. We now need you to take advantage of this important communication tool.
This survey will be available in two forms:
1) Hard copy here or from your Shop Stewards at your station that must be returned to them.
Just look for the “PSA Speak Out” image for the link on the left. The online version is more expedient when used and I highly recommend it. The survey will be available from June 9, 2015 through close of business on July 10, 2015. Beginning July 11, all of the online data and the hard copies that have been collected will be sent to the IAM Strategic Resources department for correlation of the data. Survey results will be published later in the summer.
Over the last couple of weeks, one of the consistent themes I have heard has centered on communications. Communications always has been, and always will be important during negotiations. In most instances, the questions have been answered in a bulletin and posted on the Union bulletin boards. It is important to remember to check the board often or ask a Shop Steward. For those of you that utilize electronic media, you can add your personal e-mail address to the database for future communications.
If you would like to be added to the mailing list or to submit an e-mail address, you can always contact the District Lodge 142 office at (816) 452-6646 or join online at www.iamdl142.org.
If you have any questions about this process, please give me a call at (859) 653-4037. With best wishes, I remain
Sincerely and fraternally,
James M. Samuel
