Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your IAM Negotiating Committee met again with Qantas Airways management in Los Angeles, CA, for the sixteenth round of direct negotiations. During this session, we continued our efforts to protect and strengthen your rights on the job. While no Tentative Agreements (TAs) were finalized this week, we remain committed to securing the contract you deserve.
Articles Discussed:
- Parking
- Timekeeping and Attendance
- Serious Misconduct
- Union Security
The Company expressed strong resistance to our proposed changes on timekeeping and misconduct, indicating that these topics will continue to be key points of focus in upcoming sessions.
Our next bargaining session is scheduled for the week of September 1st at IAM District 142 headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. We will continue to update you as the negotiations progress.
Thank you for your solidarity and support; it makes all the difference at the table. As we head into the long weekend that celebrates Labor, your Committee wishes everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday. Take time to rest, recharge, and be with those who matter most.
Sincerely and fraternally,
