IAM/QANTAS AIRWAYS LAX NEGOTIATIONS UPDATE

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Your IAM Negotiating Committee met once again with Qantas Airways management in Phoenix, Arizona, at the District 142 headquarters, for the seventeenth round of direct negotiations.

During this session, we continued the hard work of protecting and strengthening your rights on the job. This week, we finalized two Tentative Agreements (TAs):

  • Time Keeping
  • Parking (LAX)

In addition to the two TAs, meaningful progress was made on several other open articles, including:

  • Holidays
  • Overtime
  • Travel on Duty / Training / Remote Location Support (RLS)
  • Wage Rules
  • Benefits

Special thanks to District 142 EAP Director, Paul Shultz, for his presentation of the IAM Employee Assistance Program to Qantas Airways Management.

Our next bargaining session is scheduled for the week of October 5th at the Qantas Hangar in LAX. We will continue to update you as negotiations move forward. Thank you for your solidarity and support; it makes all the difference when we are at the negotiating table.

Sincerely and fraternally,
