IAM/Qantas Airways LAX Negotiations Update

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Negotiations resumed this week in LAX with both the Union and Company present. The Company introduced a new participant into the negotiations, with Senior Regional Manager Adam Renfree joining the session.

This week, article exchanges covered Article 6 – Holidays, Article 7 – Overtime, Article 11 – Vacations, and Article 21, which tentatively addresses travel on duty, training, field service, and support at remote locations. While some progress was made, no further tentative agreements were reached this week.

Future bargaining sessions for 2026 are scheduled for the weeks of January 12th in LAX, February 2nd in PHX, February 23rd in LAX, and March 16th in LAX. Additional dates in April and May 2026 have been planned but are not yet confirmed. A confirmation will be sent once available.

As we delve deeper into articles with economic components, we aim to maintain a pace that will lead to a Tentative Agreement for your review. Until then, we will continue to keep you updated as negotiations move forward. Your Negotiating Committee remains dedicated to securing a fair and equitable agreement that recognizes your skills, dedication, and contributions to Qantas operations. Your ongoing solidarity and support are crucial in bargaining for what you deserve.

Sincerely and fraternally,
