Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your IAM District 142 Negotiation Committee met with Qantas management in Los Angeles at the Qantas Hangar this week. This session marked the sixth time we have engaged in direct negotiations with the company. We reached two Tentative Agreements during these discussions and held constructive talks on additional articles.
Articles Discussed:
- Classification and Work Requirements
- No Self-Help/No Lockout
- Management Rights
Tentative Agreements Reached:
- Force Majeure (Acts of God)
- Representation/Shop Stewards
Both parties exchanged meaningful dialogue on the aforementioned articles, which will be incorporated into the collective bargaining agreement.
We remain committed to working diligently towards securing our first contract that will benefit all our sisters and brothers. Your Negotiating Committee appreciates the company’s cooperation and effort during this bargaining session.
Our next bargaining session is scheduled for the week of January 14, 2025, in Los Angeles, at the Qantas Hangar. Your committee wants to take this opportunity to wish everyone Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. We are hopeful of achieving a collective bargaining agreement in this coming new year.
We greatly appreciate your continued support and solidarity throughout this negotiation process.
Sincerely and fraternally,
