POST ON ALL IAMAW BULLETIN BOARDS
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your IAMAW District Lodge 142 negotiating team met with Southwest Airlines leadership September 22 – 23, 2022 in Orlando, FL (MCO) under the auspices of mediator Jerry McGuckin.
While we have made significant progress, we were unable to reach a complete tentative agreement during these sessions. Your negotiating team will meet with IAMAW Airline Coordinator Tom Regan and District 142 President-Directing General Chair (PDGC) John Coveny via Zoom over the next couple of days to discuss our next steps. We remain committed to bringing you back a contract you will be proud of.
Over the past few months, we phone banked all 8,200 members at Southwest Airlines to be sure we were ready to address with the company all the issues that impact our members. After compiling the data, we engaged in passes on the following articles:
- Article 7 Mandatory Overtime
- Me Too
- Article 27 Wages and Bonus
- Article 22 FTOs
- Article 28 Duration of the Contract
- LOU #7 CCSL
We also exchanged dialogue and ideas on Union Representatives and how we can protect our CS&S at home reservation representatives and SOS. We appreciate all your support, and we may be requiring your services at an airport near you in the very near future.
With best wishes we remain
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
