The parties met for Negotiations on August 3, 4 and 5, 2016 at the Wyndham Garden in Charlotte, North Carolina. Present for the Company were Bob Frisch, COO first day; Tina Vos, Managing Director Human Resources second and third days; Mike McHargue, Director of Maintenance, and Ashley Krueger, Employee Relations Manager. Present for the Union were Jerry Lemke, General Chair; Gary Vargo, Jason Saledas, Seneca Harris and Allan James Ross.
Several proposals were exchanged between the parties, including: Articles 2 Status of Agreement, 3 Conduct of Union Business, 5 Classification of Work, 6 Hours of Service, 11 Vacancies and Posted Jobs, 12 Seniority, 14 Furlough/Layoff and 35 Retirement. A tentative agreement was achieved on Article 3 Conduct of Union Business. Discussions centered on full explanations behind each proposal. Dialogue between the parties was again positive and constructive. The following Articles have been tentative agreed to 4 Union Shop and Voluntary Check-Off, 13 Probationary Period, 16 Transportation, 17 Transfer out of Bargaining Unit, 19 System Board of Adjustment, 21 Liability for Damage to Equipment, 22 Savings Clause, 23 No Other Agreement, 30 Test Flights, and 31 Company Meetings.
Negotiations will resume on September 13, 14, and 15, 2016 in Charlotte North Carolina. Future Negotiation meetings are planned on Nov 2, 3 and 4 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
