Mass Suspension and Warnings of Employee Travel Privileges

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

IAM District 142 has officially submitted a General Grievance to Southwest Airlines regarding the recent mass suspension and warnings of Employee Travel Privileges without transparency, evidence, or due process.

The Company issued blanket suspension letters and warnings alleging “suspicious activity” involving NRSA guest passes, yet failed to provide any evidence or reasonable opportunity to respond.

This action is unjust, arbitrary, and harmful. It violates the principles of fairness and just cause that our members are entitled to under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. District 142 demands immediate reinstatement of employee travel privileges and the removal of warnings.

IAM District 142 will continue to fight for transparency and fairness. Updates will be provided as this grievance progresses.

If you have received a suspension notice or have questions, please contact your shop steward.

Sincerely and fraternally,

John M. Coveny, Jr.
President/Directing General Chair
