Dear Sisters and Brothers:
We want to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of using your travel pass privileges responsibly. Southwest Airlines has recently raised concerns about what they are referring to as excessive pass usage, including allegations that some passes may be misused for personal financial gain.
While we know the vast majority of our members use their benefits appropriately, it’s important to be aware that selling or profiting from travel passes is strictly prohibited and could lead to serious consequences.
If you are ever approached by management regarding your pass usage or any related issue, please remember: you have the right to request Union representation before answering any questions or participating in any discussion. This right is protected under our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and is there to ensure you are treated fairly and with respect.
If you have any questions or concerns, or if you are unsure about any aspect of pass usage, please reach out to your local steward or General Chair. We are here to support you.
Thank you for your continued professionalism and solidarity.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
President/Directing General Chair
