Sisters and Brothers:
Your Negotiating Committee, J.D. Davis, Marshal Evans, Tom Goba, Ezekiel Coates, Alexander Osei and I, have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) with the Company. This TA provides for increases and improvements in pay, premiums, Retirement Contributions and other language in your current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
As you are aware, the current Agreement is in full force and effect until January 31, 2019. With this TA, we have entered into one last Extension Agreement in order to give the membership an opportunity to review the TA and conduct a ratification vote.
The process for a ratification vote, as set forth in the District 142 By-Laws, Article XIII, is currently in progress. This process includes making enough copies of the CBA with all proposed changes clearly marked. These copies will be sent to your Stewards for disbursement to you for your review. You will have the opportunity to review the proposed CBA for a minimum of five (5) days. Additionally, this TA will be posted and can be viewed on the District 142 web page, www.iamdl142.org.
We will conduct ratification meetings on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 where any questions you may have on this agreement will be answered. Voting will be conducted on property on Thursday February 7, 2019. Polls will be open from 12:00 Noon till 2:30PM and re-open at 9:00PM closing at 11:00PM. These times will afford all members adequate time to cast your Ballot. Your committee is recommending a yes vote on this agreement.
