The last two rounds of negotiations occurred April 16-17 and May 15-16, 2019 at Southwest Airlines Headquarters Dallas, Texas.
On April 16-17, we had encouraging dialog with the Company and we made progress on Article Seven (Overtime). We addressed rest rule language as well as problematic Mandatory Overtime issues with all covered employee groups.
Discussions continued May 15-16. During this session, the company presented their Article 7 (Overtime) counter proposal, which was unacceptable. Your negotiating committee is steadfast in our resolve to ensure that your voice is heard at the table. We are committed to ensure that all IAM members at Southwest have a quality of life that is befitting of our hard work and dedication to the carrier that we have made such a success.
Your committee will continue to make your voice heard on all remaining open Articles.
The next scheduled rounds of talks will take place the weeks of May 22 and June 17 in Dallas, Texas. Your solidarity and support are necessary to obtain the best collective bargaining agreement possible.
