Sisters and Brothers:
Your Negotiating Committee met in direct negotiations with the Company on Monday and Tuesday of this week in Dulles, Virginia. Present for the Company was Blake Martin, Director of Labor Relations, and Otis Williams, VP of Operations.
During the two day negotiating sessions, significant progress was made towards building your first Collective Bargaining Agreement with much language tentatively agreed to. The progress made has been formatted into Contract layout showing tentative agreements in:
Article 1 – Recognition
Article 2 – Management Rights
Article 3 – Dues Checkoff
Article 4 – No Strikes and No Lockouts
Article 5 – Seniority
Article 6 – Layoff and Recall
Article 7 – Safety and Health, Uniforms and Equipment
Article 8 – Grievance and Arbitration Procedures
Article 9 – Leaves of Absence
Article 10 – Notification of Personnel Actions
Article 11 – Security
Article 12 – Non Discrimination
Article 26 – Duration
There is a considerable amount of work to accomplished in order to bring these negotiations to close and bring a comprehensive tentative Collective Bargaining Agreement to you, the membership, for a ratification vote. We have scheduled continued negotiations the week of January 22, 2018. As usual, updates will be posted keeping you informed on your Committee’s progress. Your continued support and solidarity will be essential for a successful completion of negotiations providing you with an Agreement providing you with the dignity and respect you deserve.
