Earlier this month, senior management at Swissport contacted the Union with a concern that the company was having difficulty recruiting and retaining employees in the Fueling classification. We entered discussions with the company on how to try and resolve this concern. The result of these discussion, I am proud to report, is a wage increase affecting about 86% of the Fuelers. The parties have agreed to modify Article 16(A)1 and 16(A)2 to read as follows;
A. WAGES
- The following shall be the minimum base rate of pay for all Fuelers:
05/25/2017 | 01/01/2018 | 01/01/2019 | |
FUELER | $11.00 | $11.50 | $12.00 |
- On May 25, 2017, all Fuelers earning an hourly rate below the rate above will be adjusted accordingly.
What this means to you – All Fuelers currently making less than $11.00/hour will be brought up to $11.00/hour. All premiums and bonuses will continue to be in addition to this new base wage.
The Union will continue to represent you and work with the Company to resolve issues affecting the Fuelers Classification as they arise.
In Solidarity,
Randy Griffith
