UPDATE FOR JETSTREAM MEMBERS AT PHOENIX SKY HARBOR

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

The IAM has been notified that American Airlines will be awarding the aircraft cleaning work currently performed by Jetstream at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to a different vendor. This news is deeply concerning, and we understand the uncertainty it creates for our members.

Let us be clear: your rights under your Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) will be enforced, and the IAM will hold Jetstream accountable to the terms of your contract. The articles that cover a situation such as this include, but are not limited to:

  • Article 2 – Recognition: This article defines the work covered by the agreement and recognizes the IAM as the sole bargaining unit.
  • Article 4 – Complete Agreement: The company must notify the union in the event of a merger or acquisition that would affect your work in Phoenix.
  • Article 14 – Reductions in Force and Recall: This article outlines the proper procedures for any workforce reductions and the recall rights of affected employees.
  • Article 27 – Duration: This article establishes the life of the contract and the continuing obligations of the Company during its term.

Please stay in close contact with your shop stewards and representatives for updates, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any concerns or questions. If you need EAP assistance during this time, please contact EAP Director Paul Shultz for resources and guidance.
