IAM/Aer Lingus Interim Tentative Agreement

Dear Sisters and Brothers:

Throughout 2022, Aer Lingus has been implementing many transformational initiatives to update and re-create parts of their operation. During this time, IAMAW District Lodge 142 has been in communication with the carrier concerning the terms of a new contract. The many changes that are occurring, and that will occur, will eventually have a significant impact on the current contract in a good way. The scope of work that our agents perform will be affected by coming technology changes that will continue to occur over time. Unfortunately, these impending changes are impeding the creation of terms covering a next contract as negotiations are progressing faster than the carriers’ changes.

With that being said, Aer Lingus has recognized the Union’s concerns about the length of negotiations and has agreed to move forward with an interim agreement that will allow their employees to participate in a financial remuneration for the year 2022. This interim tentative agreement has been written as a Letter of Agreement (LOA) that will be available on the District 142 website, atd142.org. The provision of that LOA is that the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) will continue in force as we continue to negotiate. To close out the year 2022, every employee will receive the US equivalent of €1700 Euros in a one-time payment that will occur on December 9, 2022, if the interim tentative agreement is ratified by the IAM membership.

We will be conducting virtual question and answer sessions via the Zoom platform on November 29, 2022, at 10:00 am, 2:00 pm, and 6:00 pm to allow our members at Aer Lingus the opportunity to discuss this agreement and have their questions answered. A ratification vote will also be conducted online. This will give every home agent the opportunity to participate in the ratification vote without having to travel to their Local Lodge as we have had to do in the past. Additional information as needed will follow shortly. With best wishes we remain

Sincerely and fraternally,
