With the continuing growth and upward trajectory of District 142, the Executive Board has voted unanimously to add Brother Mark Strength as Temporary General Chair, effective April 10, 2023.
Brother Strength brings a wealth of knowledge and hard work promoting unionism and the IAM. Throughout his career with American Airlines, he has risen through the ranks from Station Agent to Utilityman, to A&P Mechanic, Lead Mechanic, Inspector and Crew Chief.
Brother Strength has served the IAM in elected and appointed positions including Shop Steward, Committeeman, JCBA Negotiation Committee M&R, Organizing Spirit Airlines M&R, Jetstream and Swissport, Delegate at the 2019 DL 142 Convention and Delegate at the 2022 Grand Lodge Convention.
Brother Strength’s training classes at the IAM’s Wiliam W. Winpisinger Center include Shop Steward Training, Negotiation Prep and Leadership I.
