Negotiations
We have repeatedly addressed the slow pace we have experienced in negotiations since the Company filed for mediation over a year ago. We are still aggressively pursuing the scheduling of new negotiations dates. We are hopeful that we will be communicating new negotiations dates very soon.
IAM Flight Attendant Conference
The IAM is excited to host the 2016 IAM Flight Attendant Conference. The conference is scheduled to take place on January 17-20, 2015 at the IAM’s William W. Winpisinger Education & Technology Center.
This conference is geared toward educating our rank and file membership on the IAM and the labor movement. Some of the topics covered will be:
- Airline Industry Update
- FMLA
- Jumpseat Update
- 10 Hours Rest FAR for Flight Attendants
- Flight Safety
- Negotiations Update
- Communication/Hot Topics
- Organizing
We will be seeking feedback and new ideas on how we can best service the membership in the future. On the last day of the conference we are going to be lobbying our congressional leaders on Capital Hill regarding 10 hours rest and fatigue restriction flight attendants before departing to the airport.
Attendance will be on a volunteer basis but we may be able to arrange unpaid time off if you would like to attend. All meals and transportation to/from DCA will be complimentary for the duration of the conference.

LL2339A meeting
The next LL2339A meeting is Wednesday, December 16, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Atlanta Airport North, 1255 Walker Avenue, East Point, GA 30344. There is a shuttle to and from the airport.
Vacation bid award grievance
Vacation bid award grievance was heard on December 10, 2015.
- Allowing FA’s in the bid process who are on a non-flying status
- Awarding more vacation slots during certain weeks
- Awarding fewer vacation slots during certain weeks
Once the Company decision has been given to the Union, we will provide an update.
Grievance update
This week, we had two grievances filed in ATL, two in DFW and one in DTW. The Union and the Company was able to resolve several contractual violations amicably prior to filing a grievance. There was one grievance settlement with an amicable resolution. Grievance mediation is scheduled for February 9 – February 12, 2016.

Grievance Mediation
We have confirmed our next grievance mediation dates will be February 9-11 in conjunction with CRJ grievance mediation in Atlanta.
Step 2 Grievances
We received two more grievances this week for appeal to Step 2. The base breakdown for the current pending Step 2 grievances is as follows:
