Dear Sisters and Brothers:
Your IAM District 142 negotiating team met with Air Wisconsin leadership this week at Air Wisconsin Inflight Recruitment and Training Offices in ORD. Our goal for the week was to draft proposals for the COFPS and MRP groups to pass to the company.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, both sides met to secure future dates for negotiations. Dates are scheduled for the weeks of October 23rd and December 11th in 2023, and the weeks of January 8th, February 5th, and February 20th in 2024. We also mutually agreed on those articles that neither side intends to change.
On Thursday both sides met again, and the union made passes to the company on the following Articles:
COFPS | MRP |
Article 5 – Work Classification | Article 5 – Classification of Work |
Article 8 – Hours of Service | Article 7 – Overtime and Holidays |
Article 11 (A) – Holidays | Article 9 – Vacation |
Article 11 (F) – Holidays | Article 15 – Sick Leave |
Article 27 – Tool Allowance |
Some dialogue was exchanged, but the purpose of passing is to enable the company to take each proposal, read and examine it, and either agree in principle or make a counterproposal. Air Wisconsin then passed to the union two proposals for the COFPS group and two for the MRP group. We have made preliminary notes on these and intend to work as a group to draft counters back to the company.
We appreciate all of your support as the negotiating team continues the process of reaching a new agreement for the IAM membership at Air Wisconsin. Thank you for your continued patience, commitment, and solidarity.
Sincerely and fraternally,
John M. Coveny, Jr.
