Dear Sisters and Brothers:
As we begin this new year, we want to express solidarity with those affected by the recent wildfires. We sincerely hope that life can return to normal for all those impacted in the near future.
Your Negotiating Committee recently met with Qantas management in Los Angeles at the Qantas hangar. This session marked the seventh time we have engaged in direct discussions with the company. During these productive talks, we reached two Tentative Agreements and made significant progress on the following key articles:
Articles Discussed:
- Classification and Work Requirements
- Hours of Service
- Filling of Vacancies
- Artificial Intelligence
Tentative Agreements Reached:
- Uniforms
- No Self-Help / No Lockout
Both parties exchanged concerns regarding these articles, which will be incorporated into the forthcoming collective bargaining agreement.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to securing our first contract, which will benefit all of our brothers and sisters. Your Negotiating Committee appreciates the Company’s cooperation and the constructive efforts made during this bargaining session.
Our next bargaining session is scheduled for the week of February 11th at the District 142 office in Phoenix, Arizona. As we continue forward, we want to take this opportunity to wish each of you a prosperous and successful 2025. We remain hopeful that we will reach a collective bargaining agreement in the near future.
Thank you for your ongoing support and solidarity throughout this vital negotiation process.
Sincerely and fraternally,
