Your negotiating Committee met with Swissport Director of Labor Relations Blake Martin and Phoenix General Manager Otis Williams the week of September 20, 21, 22, 2016.
Negotiations began on a positive note with tentative agreements reached on; Vacations, Retirement, Filling of Vacancies, General and Miscellaneous, and Hours of Service. The tone of negotiations changed for the worse, however, when the Company passed their proposal on wages. This proposal was completely unacceptable and did not come close to meeting your needs. The Company has taken the position that an extremely high fueler turnover rate is an acceptable business model.
Your Negotiating Committee spent many long hours creating contract costing models and drafting language to give a fair counter-proposal. This Committee is committed to fighting for a fair contract that meets your needs.
