Sisters and Brothers,
We went back to the negotiations table on October 18, 2016 at 2 Park Avenue, New York City. Present for Open Skies were Valerie Francois, Human Resources Director, Tony Scheppens, Peter Nye, Director of Flight Operations and Attorney Rick Vitarelli. In attendance for the Union, General Chair Sara Gonzales and negotiating committee members Cathy Carey and Francois Bisi.
We revisited the financial outlook for the Company and it is still very dismal in regards to annual losses. In addition, we addressed several areas of concern with the Company that have been raised by members.
We exchanged comprehensive proposals to make changes to the previous Tentative Agreement, which would address the areas of concern we received as feedback after the failed ratification vote. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach an agreement with the Company and while we were offered comprehensive proposals by the Company, we do not believe the offers addressed the concerns raised by the membership.
At this time, we will be exploring all of our options to move forward, which does include the option of filing for mediation. Once we have reached a plan to move forward we will communicate it to you promptly.
