IAM Members at Hawaiian Airlines to Receive Profit Sharing Check

Approximately 2,500 IAM members at Hawaiian Airlines will receive previously unpaid 2014 and 2015 profit sharing in their December 22, 2016 paychecks. The company has never extended this provision before with any union group. This unprecedented payout is the result of the good working relationship the IAM maintains with Hawaiian Airlines and the positive impact our Board of Directors member, Joseph Guerrieri Esq., has had for IAM members at the carrier.

“We thank Hawaiian Airlines for recognizing the integral role our members had in the airline’s successful 2016 campaign,” said General Vice President Sito Pantoja. “We also appreciate the role Joe Guerrieri plays in maintaining a strong working relationship with the airline.”

The profit sharing language in all of Hawaiian Airlines’ Collective Bargaining Agreements basically states that profit sharing is only paid through the amendable date of a contract. Hawaiian Airlines has decided not to invoke this clause and will be paying any portion of the 2014 and 2015 profit sharing that was not paid out to current employees who worked under contracts that were open in 2014 and 2015.
