After the announcement last Monday, April 4th, of Alaska Airlines acquiring Virgin America, there have been many questions. One that was answered this week was, “When can Alaska employees fly on Virgin America”? Before the announcement, Alaska employees didn’t have an interline agreement to travel on Virgin America but as of April 12th, they can now purchase discounted standby travel tickets on Virgin America.
“Employees with at least 6 months service and their dependents can travel on a ZED low fare, the least expensive fare available. As an example of the cost of a standby ticket, it would be $58 to fly one-way from San Francisco to Boston on Virgin America”, announced Alaska Airlines.
