CommutAir Safety Update

Sisters and Brothers:

Below is a breakdown of what we have discussed with the company:

• The Company will immediately notify all work groups of any positive COVID-19 confirmed cases and procedures followed.

• The IAM is working with the company on a case by case basis for any sick calls and personal leaves during this time.

• Crew rooms are being sanitized daily according to CDC guidelines.

• Aircrafts are being sanitized each leg according to CDC guidelines.

• Any best practice or protocol offered to any work group in the company shall also be offered to the flight attendants.

• The company is working closely with the IAM and ALPA safety teams to ensure a safe work environment.

• The company is allowing flight attendants to wear masks for their protection while performing duties during flight.

COVID-19 Email

If you have questions or concerns please email which will go to a committee of people including safety, EAP and District Lodge Representatives. Please identify where you are based and that you are a CommutAir flight attendant.

Virus/PPE Kits

The company is providing Virus Kits including sanitizer, sani-coms, and gloves. These are being brought to the planes by base supervisors. If you are in a base and need PPE, please reach out to a supervisor in that base to bring what is needed.  

The company has agreed to allow FAs to bring their own surgical masks and use during all phases of flight.  Per the company, please continue to review updated information from the CDC. The CDC has made recommendations regarding face masks when resources are limited.

Cleaning of ACs

Aircrafts will continue to receive their “Turn Cleans”.  If your AC is not receiving a “Turn Clean” at a Hub, please notify your PIC.  The PIC will notify OPS, and cleaners will be dispatched to the AC.  Please file an incident report if your ACs aren’t being serviced for your safety, and the public’s safety.

Reminder
