While we are still awaiting a response from the National Mediation Board (NMB) regarding our request to move the negotiating process to the next step, your IAM joint contract negotiations committee met from Monday, May 15 and continued through Friday, May 19, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Your negotiation committee is dedicated to negotiating a contract that will provide parity for all flight attendants to earn the same pay for the same work. As we continue to negotiate on your behalf, we have also made it clear to the company that it is time to reach a joint agreement. This process is taking far too long. During this process, the company has caused 7 years of delays and we want a contract now. Our flight attendants deserve better. Stalling for 7 years is simply unacceptable. Repeatedly, the company has told us “Thank you for taking care of each other and our customers”, well, IT’S TIME TO TAKE CARE OF US. Thank you for your patience and look forward to your continued support.
The mediator has scheduled our next negotiation session in Springfield, Missouri May 29 to June 2, 2017.
