ExpressJet Furlough Update

Sisters and Brothers:

Yesterday, we met with Company regarding the many questions that were received regarding the ERJ furloughs.

The Company has agreed to extend the window to elect furlough or COLA until 1200 midnight, Saturday 12-1-18 night/Sunday 12-2-18 morning to allow for the contractual 5 days to make elections.

The list that was published did include three Flight Attendants that are not being furloughed because the list was based on approximate staffing numbers. However, if you received the email with instructions on how to elect the COLA or furlough option, you are in the affected group and do need to make your election of COLA or furlough.

If you are part of the affected group, held a line for December and were awarded a trip that flies through Dec 31, the trip will be removed and pay protected.

If you are on furlough you are eligible to apply, train and work at other airlines but not while on a COLA, as it’s viewed as a conflict of interest.

If you de-qual while on COLA or furlough you will be requalified once you are recalled and that month will become your new due month for RGT.

You will have limited access to XJT.com, including the ability to print your W-2 forms and keep your contact information updated. It is a contractual requirement that you keep your contact info updated while out on a furlough.

You are not required to participate in COBRA in order to have your insurance benefits reinstated when you are recalled.

We know there are many more questions to come and will be here to assist you throughout this extremely difficult process. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at  or 281-827-3965.

In solidarity,
