EXPRESSJET JUMPSEAT COMMUNICATION

Sisters and Brothers:

Our fight against United Airlines discriminatory jumpseat policy has gone on long enough.  We are sick and tired of the excuses and IT glitches that prevent IAM Flight Attendants access to the United jumpseat, while United Flight Attendants sit in ours every day. The lack of respect for our hard-working Flight Attendants who take care of their passengers every day is disgusting.

We watch as planes with empty jumpseats depart, while we are trying to go to work and provide the best service in the industry for their customers or we can’t get home and are missing out on time with our loved ones. United has shown us that they do not care if we can get to work or get home, but the time has come for us to let them know how we feel after the years of being discriminated against.

Please email John Slater, United Senior Vice President of Inflight Services at and let him know how you feel about United’s discrimination against United Express Flight Attendants. Let him know how not having access to the United jumpseat affects your life.  We do ask that you keep your emails representative of the safety professionals that we are, but we do ask for you to be frank with your concerns.  Our voices matter and together we will be heard.

In solidarity,
