EXPRESSJET JUMPSEAT FIGHT VICTORY!

Brothers and Sisters:

The IAM and United Airlines have reached an agreement on implementation of our previous settlement to allow IAM-represented Flight Attendants the right to occupy vacant jumpseats on all United Airlines aircraft as of June 1, 2020.

The agreement comes after countless meetings with United management dating back to 2013. The electronic implementation of our agreement has been the cause of the delay. While we were all extremely frustrated with the one-sided jumpseat policy initially implemented and we are disappointed it took so long to resolve, the IAM never stopped fighting for fairness. We are happy to announce a final resolution that provides fairness for our members.

You will list online for the jumpseat via the United app or EmployeeRes via Flying Together.

A fair and truly reciprocal jumpseat access has always been a top priority for the IAM. It has been a repeated topic of discussion between the IAM, ExpressJet, CommutAir and United since the original policy was announced. Although we wish implementation could have been reached sooner, your unity regarding the unfairness of this policy played an enormous role in successfully resolving the issue.

We understand there are other major concerns during this time but hope you see this as a bright spot and hopefully positive things coming our way. We can weather any storm together.

Once again this proves through solidarity, all things are possible. Thank you all for standing with your fellow IAM members and never giving up.

In solidarity,
